We're so glad you've decided to join us in Puerto Rico for Finding Your Myth. We'll be collecting information here over the coming months that we hope you'll find helpful as you prepare to travel to Casa Grande Mountain Retreat in Utuado. Below, you'll meet and find contact information for our retreat director, some preliminary travel information to help with your planning, the wellness service menu, and frequently asked questions at the bottom of the page.
Hi, I’m Jessica.
I am the retreat director and will be your main point of contact leading up to and during our time at the retreat center together. I am also an artist, the creative director for Lisa’s many ventures including This Jungian Life, a trained group and psychedelic facilitator, and recently returned to school to work towards a degree in Art Therapy.

Travel
Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport (SJU) in San Juan is the main international airport of Puerto Rico and best place to fly into. We will be providing information on a couple options for group transportation between San Juan and Casa Grande on January 28th and February 1. If you cannot make it to these group transport options, you will need to arrange for private transportation to and from the retreat center. Please note that your best bet outside of the group shuttle is renting a vehicle as the availability of rideshare apps is limited outside the San Juan metro area.
You are welcome to bring a rental car to the retreat center as there is ample free parking on site, including an electric car charger. Just remember to download your map/directions before leaving San Juan as there is limited cell coverage in the mountains surrounding the retreat center.
We highly recommend arriving a day early in San Juan if at all possible with your schedule to avoid unnecessary stress due to unexpected travel delays. We cannot reschedule group shuttles or arrange for individual private transportation if your flights are delayed day of. It may also give you the opportunity to meet up for dinner or coffee with other early arrivals!

Arrival and Opening Reception:

*note the shuttles will be leaving San Juan by around 1pm so you will need to try and arrive no later than noon to allow plenty of time for getting your luggage and making your way to the meetup point. Final time to be confirmed.
Checkout:
12-2pm on Monday, February 1
*please note the shuttles will be leaving the retreat center between 12-2pm so the earliest they will arrive in San Juan for check in is between 130-330pm. Final time to be confirmed.
Weather
In Utuado, January has average highs around 84ºF / 28ºC and lows around 68ºF / 20ºC. Part of the island's dry season, January sees frequent but light, brief showers rather than heavy downpours. The retreat center is located in a unique mountain microclimate where the air remains naturally cool and refreshing at night year-round.
What to Bring
You'll want to bring comfortable, breathable clothing. Cotton t-shirts, shorts, yoga pants, light dresses, and sandals are perfect for during the day. You will also want to bring some cozy layers for the breezy, cooler evenings in the mountains. Some rain is possible, so pack something to handle light showers such as a rain jacket and/or umbrella.
Don't forget we will have access to the onsite saltwater pool as well as hiking trails up into the forest and down to the river and swimming holes, so bring swimwear, clothing and shoes appropriate for those activities. Our excursion on Friday will take us into open areas and on a hike so make sure to bring sunscreen and a hat for being in the sun. You may also want to bring some natural insect repellent for our time outdoors.
As a reminder, U.S. citizens do not need a passport to travel between the U.S. and Puerto Rico. Entry requirements for non-U.S. citizens are the same as for entering the United States from any foreign destination. Puerto Rico uses the U.S. dollar (USD).
We have intentionally built some down time into the schedule so you can rest, read, sketch or spend your time as you choose. As such, we recommend bringing a book to read or share, your journal for reflection, a travel watercolor kit or whatever will help you make the most of your time.

Massage and other wellness services are an optional add-on. We've included the service menu here for your reference. Services will need to be booked and paid for in advance.

Yes, you are more than welcome to arrange your own transportation. There is ample, free parking on location if you choose to bring your own rental car.
Is there charging for electric vehicles available?
Yes, there are electric car chargers at the retreat center.
Is there cell phone service or wifi at the retreat center?
There is limited cell phone service getting to and at the retreat center, however there is wifi available on the property.

Do the rooms have air conditioning?
The retreat center is located in a unique mountain microclimate where the air remains naturally cool and refreshing at night year round. This will be especially so in January. Each room has screened windows that open and a ceiling fan for circulation.
Is the retreat center wheelchair accessible?
The retreat center main buildings and accommodations are scattered up the mountainside. Climbing some stairs is required to access all rooms and most meeting spaces.
Can I change my room type?
You can add a Premium package to any room type, however switching between a single occupancy Queen and a double occupancy Double Full room will depend on availability and timing. Please email us at retreats@lisamarchiano.com to discuss your options.
Are all meals included?
Yes, all meals at the retreat center are included. We will have one day with a bagged lunch when on our excursion to Caguana Indgenous Ceremonial Park. We will eat picnic style outdoors for that meal.
Do you offer refunds?
All payments are non-refundable.
